Lovelle
Closer, always
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Lovelle mobile app (“Lovelle”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and deletes information. Lovelle is a private relationship app for two connected partners. It is published at lovelle.app. Contact: lovelle.app@gmail.com.
Store reviewers: Lovelle uses precise location, including background location if you choose Always / Allow all the time, only for Couple Map and related partner alerts. We do not sell personal data and we do not use advertising identifiers.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the features you choose to use. Categories include:
Account and profile
Email address, display name, profile photo or avatar, authentication identifiers, language, birthday or anniversary dates you enter, relationship type/status, and app settings. You can create an account with email and password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple.
Partner connection
Invite codes, QR scan events, deep-link tokens, and the partner account you connect with. Couple features work only after both people connect. Invite tokens are not used for advertising.
Private couple content you create
Love Notes (text, camera photos, and library photos), memories and albums, Mood Jar and mood entries, Mood Bubble, Status, Vibes and Signals, live drawings, live touch sessions, stories, and similar in-app content. This content is stored to provide the feature to you and your connected partner. Product analytics are designed not to include private note text, chat content, photos, exact coordinates, names, emails, or invite tokens.
Location
If you enable Couple Map sharing, we collect precise location (GPS-grade coordinates, accuracy, speed, heading, and timestamps) while the app is in use. If you also grant Always / Allow all the time, we collect that location when the app is closed or not in use so live place, distance, arrival, and safety alerts can keep working. Memory and some drawing features may use a one-time place only when you attach a location. See Section 3.
Battery, presence, and mood sharing
If you turn on sharing, we may collect device battery level/state, online presence, mood, and read-receipt state to show those to your connected partner. You can turn these off in Profile.
Device, app, and diagnostics
App version, platform (iOS/Android), language, device permission state, push notification tokens, Firebase installation identifiers, RevenueCat app user id, approximate time zone, product analytics events, and basic device signals needed to deliver notifications, widgets, and maps. Mood Jar uses on-device motion sensors to animate bubbles; that sensor stream stays on the device and is not uploaded.
Widgets and extensions
Home Screen / Lock Screen widgets and iOS Live Activities may store a compact snapshot (for example last vibe, countdown, or a location/battery label) in an on-device app group so the widget can render. Anyone who can see the device can see widget content. iOS Location Push may wake the app to refresh Couple Map when sharing is on.
Purchases
Subscription status, product identifiers, entitlement, trial/renewal dates, and restore events. Apple and Google process the payment. We do not receive your full card number. RevenueCat helps us check entitlements.
Support
Messages, attachments, and optional diagnostics you send through Contact Support or feedback.
2. Device permissions
Permissions are requested only when a feature needs them. They are optional unless a specific feature cannot run without them. You can change most of them in system Settings and review sharing in Profile → Privacy.
| Permission | Why Lovelle asks | Shared with partner? |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Capture photo Love Notes and scan a partner invite QR code. | Only photos or notes you send. |
| Photos / media library | Choose photos for Love Notes and memories, and save a received photo if you tap save. | Only media you choose to send. |
| Location while using the app | Show your place on Couple Map, attach a place to a memory, and related map features. | Live location only if Couple Map sharing is on. Memory places follow the memory you save. |
| Location always / all the time (background) | Keep Couple Map, live distance, arrival, and safety alerts working when the app is closed or not in use. Android may also use a location foreground service. | Only your connected partner, and only while sharing is on. |
| Notifications | Love Notes, vibes, map and battery alerts, anniversary reminders, and similar updates. Android 13+ uses POST_NOTIFICATIONS. Reminders may use exact alarms. | No. Notifications are delivered to your device. |
| Motion / accelerometer | Animate Mood Jar bubbles on your device. | No. Motion data is not uploaded. |
| Network, vibration, boot restart | Run the app, haptics, and restart background location after reboot if sharing is still enabled. | Not applicable. |
Lovelle does not request microphone, contacts, calendar, Bluetooth, Face ID, or App Tracking Transparency / advertising ID for the current product. If a future feature needs a new permission, we will update this policy and the in-app prompt before using it.
3. Precise and background location
Prominent disclosure. This app collects location data to enable Couple Map, live distance, and partner arrival or safety alerts even when the app is closed or not in use, if you choose Always / Allow all the time. Location is used only for those couple features. Only your connected partner can see it. We do not sell location data. You can pause sharing in Profile or change the permission in system Settings at any time.
When sharing is on we may also use:
- Foreground location while you use Couple Map.
- Background location and, on Android, a location foreground service.
- iOS Location Push to request a fresh point so the map can update when your partner opens it.
- Places you mark for arrival alerts, plus optional speed, nearby, or sleep alerts you enable.
- Google Maps to render the map. Map tiles are requested from Google when you view the map.
Signed location payloads may be stored briefly so the partner app can verify they came from your device. Location history retained for in-app history follows the feature settings and is deleted with your account according to Section 7.
4. How we use information
- Create and secure your account, and connect you with one partner.
- Provide couple features, widgets, notifications, and Lovelle+ entitlements.
- Show your live place and optional battery/mood/presence to your partner when you enable sharing.
- Measure product usage with Firebase Analytics using events and settings, not private content.
- Diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
- Respond to support and deletion requests.
Legal bases where GDPR/UK GDPR apply include: performing the contract (providing the app you asked for), legitimate interests (security, product improvement with de-identified events), consent (optional permissions such as camera, photos, notifications, and location), and legal obligation (tax/accounting for purchases where required).
5. How we share information
We share information in these ways:
- Your connected partner — content and sharing you turn on (notes, memories, map, battery, mood, and similar couple features).
- Service providers — processors listed in Section 6, only to operate Lovelle.
- Stores and sign-in providers — Apple, Google, and RevenueCat for authentication and subscriptions.
- Legal — if required by law or to protect users from serious harm or abuse.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not allow third-party ad networks in the current app. If you use the system share sheet, the destination app receives only what you choose to share.
If you disconnect from a partner, couple sharing stops. Shared memories and notes already delivered to the other person may remain in their account until they delete them, except where our deletion process removes couple-owned records.
6. Service providers
- Google Firebase — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, and Analytics.
- Google Maps — map display and geocoding when you use map features.
- Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple — optional account login.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payments, receipts, and restore.
- RevenueCat — subscription entitlement checks.
These providers may process data in the United States or other countries where they operate. We require them to use data only to provide their service to us.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep account and content data while your account is active. After you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal data that is no longer needed, including profile, couple references we own, and media we store, subject to short backup windows and records we must keep (for example subscription or fraud records required by Apple, Google, or tax law).
Delete your account: In the app go to Profile → Account & Security → Delete Account, or email lovelle.app@gmail.com from the address on the account. Deleting one partner’s account does not automatically delete the other partner’s independent account. Couples should unpair or delete content they no longer want the other person to have before deleting.
Local widget snapshots, notification tokens, and on-device caches are removed on logout or deletion as soon as the app can reach them. You can also delete the app to remove remaining on-device files.
8. Your choices and rights
- Turn off Couple Map, battery, mood, presence, or read receipts in Profile.
- Revoke camera, photos, location, or notification permission in system Settings.
- Restore, manage, or cancel Lovelle+ in your Apple ID or Google Play account. See the Terms of Service.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Email lovelle.app@gmail.com. We may need to verify the request.
- EEA/UK users may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents can request to know, delete, or correct personal information and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as those terms are defined under CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell personal information.
9. Children
Lovelle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are in a region where the digital consent age is higher (for example 16 in parts of the EEA), you must meet that age. If we learn we collected data from a child below the required age, we will delete it.
10. Security and international transfers
We use encryption in transit, access-controlled cloud storage, and partner-only security rules for couple data. No method of transmission is 100% secure. Do not rely on Lovelle as an emergency, medical, or safety-critical service.
If you use Lovelle from outside the country where our processors store data, you understand that your information may be transferred internationally with appropriate safeguards used by those processors.
11. Contact and changes
Questions, privacy requests, and account deletion: lovelle.app@gmail.com. Website: https://lovelle.app.
We may update this policy to match the product. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date and, where required, notified in the app. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
