Your first date, the day you made it official, or any day you celebrate.

Off: the start date is day 0, as most calculators count.

Choose your start date to see how long you have been together.

Quick answer

To work out how many days you have been together, count the calendar days from your start date to today. Enter the date above and the days together calculator does it for you, with weeks, months and years, leap days included. A couple who got together on 14 February 2024 has been together for 983 days on 24 October 2026: 140 weeks and 3 days, or 2 years, 8 months and 10 days.

How the days together calculator works

Pick the date your relationship started and the result appears straight away. You get the total number of days, the same time in weeks, and a calendar breakdown in years, months and days. Under that is your next round number, such as 500 or 1,000 days, with its date and how many days are left.

The count runs on the calendar of the device you are using, so it ticks over at midnight where you are. Nothing is sent anywhere: the date sits in the page address so the result survives a refresh and can be shared as a link.

Which date should we use as our start date?

Use the day the two of you already celebrate. For some couples that is the first date; for others it is the day you agreed to be exclusive, the first time you said “I love you” or the day you met in person after talking online. If you cannot agree, try both dates and keep the one that makes you smile, or count from both.

Days, weeks, months and years

Days and weeks are simple division. Months and years are counted on the calendar, the way people say them out loud: from 14 February to 14 March is one month, whether February had 28 or 29 days. That is why “2 years, 8 months and 10 days” is more useful than an average-length month.

How many days have we been together? Three worked examples

Here is what the calculator shows for a few start dates, counted to 24 October 2026, the day this guide was written.

Example

Together since 14 February 2024

  • 983 days together, or 140 weeks and 3 days.
  • 2 years, 8 months and 10 days on the calendar.
  • Next milestone: 1,000 days on Tuesday 10 November 2026, 17 days away.

Example

The same date, counting the first day as day 1

  • 984 days together.
  • The 1,000th day moves one day earlier, to Monday 9 November 2026.
  • Pick one way of counting and keep it, so your milestones always line up.

Example

Together since 1 January 2026

  • 296 days together: 42 weeks and 2 days.
  • 9 months and 23 days on the calendar.
  • Your 300-day mark falls on 28 October 2026, and 365 days on 1 January 2027.

Day 0 or day 1: two ways couples count

Most date calculators treat your start date as day 0, so the day after is one day together. Plenty of couples, especially those who celebrate 100 days, count the first day as day 1. That makes every total one higher and moves each milestone one day earlier.

Neither is wrong. Use the “Count our first day as day 1” switch to match the way you already count. If an app, a friend or your partner gets a number that is one different from yours, this is almost always the reason.

How to calculate relationship months by hand

If you want to check the maths, or you are wondering how many months you have been dating without a calculator, count it in three steps:

  1. Count the full years from your start date to the last time that date came round.
  2. From there, count the full months until the same day of the month comes round again before today.
  3. Count the remaining days. If your start date is the 29th, 30th or 31st, use the last day of shorter months.

For days, it is easier to let the calculator do the work: it has to include every leap day, and a single slip in a long count is easy to make.

Leap years, short months and time zones

Every 29 February between your start date and today is included, and the count uses calendar dates only, so a daylight-saving change can never add or remove a day.

If you and your partner live in different time zones, your counts can be one day apart for a few hours around midnight. That is expected: each of you sees the number for your own local date. If you share a link, it opens with the same start date and recalculates for the person opening it.

Ideas for celebrating your days together

A days-together number is a lovely excuse to mark the ordinary stretches between birthdays and anniversaries, especially if you live apart. A few ideas that need no special occasion:

A memory from each year

Send the share link with one small memory from every year you have been together. Small and specific beats grand.

The next round number

Check the next milestone and plan something tiny for it: the same takeaway in both cities, or a film you both start at the same moment.

A note jar

Write one note for every hundred days so far and post or send them together. It is a lovely surprise on a random weekday.

Screenshot the big days

Save a picture of the count on round days and keep it with your photos from that week. It becomes a little timeline of its own.

Ask a question

Pick a question about the early days, such as what you each remember about the first week. There are 50 questions for long-distance couples to borrow from.

Make it a ritual

Mention the number once a month in a goodnight message. A small daily ritual can carry more weight than a big plan.

Keep the count going

Want every future date in one place? The milestone dates calculator lists your 100, 500, 1,000 and 10,000-day dates and lets you add them to your calendar. For the yearly date, the anniversary calculator shows which anniversary is next and the weekday it falls on. If you are apart right now, the countdown until we meet counts the days the other way.

Q & A

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate how many days we have been together?

Count the calendar days from your start date to today. Enter your start date in the days together calculator and it works this out instantly, including leap days. Turn on “Count our first day as day 1” if you include the first day in your count.

How long have we been together in days, weeks and months?

The calculator shows all three: the total days, the same time in weeks and days, and a calendar breakdown in years, months and days. For example, 14 February 2024 to 24 October 2026 is 983 days, 140 weeks and 3 days, or 2 years, 8 months and 10 days.

How many months have we been dating?

Count full calendar months from your start date: the same day of each month marks another month. The calculator does this for you and shows the months alongside years and days. If you started on the 31st, shorter months use their last day.

How long is 1,000 days together?

1,000 days is 142 weeks and 6 days, or roughly 2 years and 9 months. The exact months depend on your start date and leap years; the milestone dates calculator gives you the exact date.

Why is our count different from another app?

Usually because one counts the first day as day 1 and the other starts at day 0, or because the two devices are in different time zones around midnight. Match the day 1 setting and the numbers will agree.

Can I share our days together with my partner?

Yes. Use “Copy link” or “Share” to send a link that opens this page with your date already filled in, or save the result as an image to post or send.

Do you save the dates or names I enter?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent to or stored on Lovelle's servers. Your inputs are kept in the page address after the # sign, which browsers do not send to websites, so a share link opens with the same result. Anyone with the link can see those inputs, so share it only with people you trust.
