Press the button for your first question. Answer it together, then take turns.

Quick answer

To get random questions for couples, choose a set (fun, deep, get to know you, future and dreams, long distance, would you rather, memories, or a mix of everything) and press “Give us a question”. You get one question at a time in a random order, with no repeats until you have seen the whole set. There are 140 questions in total. Take turns answering, go back to a question you skipped, or share one with your partner. It is free and needs no sign-up.

How the couple question generator works

Each set has 20 questions. The generator shuffles them when you start and works through them in that order, so you will not get the same question twice until you have seen every one.

  1. Pick a set of questions to match your mood, or choose Mix for a bit of everything.
  2. Press “Give us a question”. A random question appears on the card.
  3. Both answer it. The best conversations come from asking “why?” afterwards.
  4. Press “Next question” for another, or go back if you want to return to one.
  5. Found a good one? Share it as a link or an image and send it to your partner.

The question sets, with examples

Every question is written for couples, whether you met last month or have been together for years. These are real questions from each set.

How to ask questions that lead somewhere

A question is only the start. The magic is in what happens after the first answer. These habits turn a random question into a real conversation.

  • Both answer every question. It should feel like a swap, not an interview.
  • Ask one follow-up before moving on: “Why that one?” or “When did you first feel that?”
  • Listen more than you plan your own answer.
  • Skip freely. If a question does not fit the mood, press Next.
  • Save deep questions for when you are both relaxed and have time.

Deep questions for couples

Deep questions help you understand what is going on beneath the everyday: what your partner values, what they are afraid of and how they like to be loved. They are especially good on a long walk, a slow dinner or a late-night call.

Start with one or two from the Deep set, then switch to Memories or Fun to keep the mood light. A few from the deep set to start with:

Feeling like yourself

When do you feel most like yourself?

Changing your mind

What is something you have changed your mind about in the last few years?

Being loved

What does being loved well look like to you?

Quiet pride

What are you most proud of that few people know about?

If a deep answer surprises you, thank them for sharing before you react. That makes the next honest answer easier.

Questions for long-distance couples

When you talk every day, conversations can shrink to “how was work?” The long-distance set is written to break that loop, with questions about your routines apart, your calls and your next visit, like “What would make our calls feel even better?” and “What do you want to do first on our next visit?”

Try one question a day by text, or three at the start of a call. If your schedules barely overlap, the time-zone overlap tool helps you find the hours you are both awake. Our guide to questions for long-distance couples has dozens more, grouped by mood, and our tips on different time zones help when you are rarely online together.

Turn questions into a game

Questions are the gentle end of couples games. When you want more energy, try the couples quiz, where your partner guesses your answers and gets a score, or play truth or dare for couples with dares to match.

For an easy date night at home or on a call, set a timer for twenty minutes and see how many questions you get through. Most couples only manage three or four, because the good ones lead somewhere.

When you share, your choices travel inside the link after the # sign, which browsers do not send to websites. That part is not encrypted, so anyone with the link can read it. Share it only with the person it is meant for.
