Quick answer

To build a relationship bucket list, browse 84 ideas in seven groups (while we are apart, on our next visit, travel, cosy at home, food and drink, adventures, someday) and tap the ones you both want. Add up to twelve of your own, give the list a title, then tick items off as you do them. The list saves on your device and travels in a share link, so your partner can open it and add to it. It is free and needs no sign-up.

How the relationship bucket list builder works

Your list is saved in this browser, so it is still there next time you visit on the same device. The share link carries the whole list, including what you have ticked off. When your partner opens it, they can add ideas and send their version back.

  1. Pick a group of ideas at the top, such as Travel or Cosy at home.
  2. Tap any idea to add it to your list. Tap again to take it off.
  3. Type your own ideas under “Add your own”. Personal ones are often the best.
  4. Give your list a title, like “Maya & Dev's 2027 list”.
  5. Tick items off as you do them and watch the progress bar fill.
  6. Share the list link with your partner, save it as an image, or print it for the fridge.

Why make a couples bucket list?

A bucket list for couples turns “we should do that some time” into a plan. Writing ideas down together shows you what you both want, from small cosy nights to once-in-a-lifetime trips. It is also a lovely record: ticking off an item becomes a memory with a date attached.

The best lists mix sizes. If every item is a trip abroad, the list feels out of reach. Add plenty of small things you can tick off this month, a few bigger plans for the year, and one or two dreams for someday.

A long-distance relationship bucket list

Long-distance couples get two extra groups: things to do while you are apart and things to save for your next visit. Both matter. The “apart” list keeps the weeks between visits full of shared plans; the “visit” list makes every reunion feel special instead of a scramble to decide what to do.

While we are apart

  • Watch the same film at the same time
  • Read the same book and discuss it
  • Stargaze at the same moon on the same night
  • Learn ten words of each other's language
  • Make an open-when letter set

On our next visit

  • Walk the route the other takes every day
  • Have breakfast at the café the other always talks about
  • Cook a dish from each other's childhood
  • Recreate a photo from our first visit
  • Spend a whole day with phones switched off

Count down to the visit list with countdown until we meet, and find more ideas for the weeks apart in our long-distance relationship activities. Planning something for your anniversary? Our long-distance anniversary ideas pair well with a bucket list item or two.

How to actually tick things off

Plenty of bucket lists are written once and forgotten. A few simple habits keep yours alive.

  • Put it where you will see it: print it for the fridge or keep the link pinned in your chat.
  • Pick one item each month and put a date on it.
  • When you tick something off, take a photo and keep it with your other memories.
  • Review the list on your anniversary. Cross off what no longer appeals and add new dreams.
  • Stuck for tonight? Spin the date night wheel or try the date idea generator for something quick.

Q & A

Frequently asked questions

What is a relationship bucket list?

It is a shared list of things you want to do together as a couple, from small date ideas to big trips and life goals.

Is the bucket list builder free?

Yes. It is free, with no sign-up, and works on any phone or computer.

Is my bucket list saved?

Yes, in this browser on this device. It is not stored on Lovelle's servers, so to move it to another device or to your partner, use the share link.

Can my partner add to our bucket list?

Yes. Send the list link. When they open it, they can add or tick off items and send their updated link back to you.

How many items should a couples bucket list have?

Around 15 to 20 is a good start: lots of small things you can do soon, a few bigger plans and one or two dreams for someday.

Can I print our bucket list?

Yes. Press Print for a clean, printer-friendly version of your list, or save it as an image.

Are there bucket list ideas for long-distance couples?

Yes. The builder has a group of ideas for while you are apart and another for your next visit.

Does Lovelle save what I type?

No. The tool runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent to or stored on Lovelle's servers. When you share, your choices travel inside the link after the # sign, which browsers do not send to websites. That part is not encrypted, so anyone with the link can read it. Share it only with the person it is meant for.
